Applecheeks Cloth Diapers: Awesome.

November 21, 2012 by Miranda 2 Comments

If you’re following along on Instagram, you know that we’re cloth diapering Emma. You also know that AppleCheeks cloth diapers are my favorites.

AppleCheeks cloth diapers have a lot of cool features:

  • they can be used as pocket diapers or diaper covers.
  • their resale value is fantastic, sometimes even ABOVE retail for limited edition prints.
  • their color selection is beautiful.
  • AppleCheeks was started by two moms who continue to be the faces of their company.
  • all AppleCheeks diapers are made in Montreal where they began. No outsourcing!

But the #1 thing I love about AppleCheeks?

The insert agitates out in the washer. Which means I don’t have to touch it unless it’s clean.

The downside to cloth diapering for me isn’t the poop. Really. It’s not. I mean, yes, poop is gross. But everybody poops. I may not like poop, but I can deal.

What sometimes gets me all “grrr….argh” is the insert removal. If I don’t remove the insert right when I change the diaper, that means I have to remove it when I put the diapers into the washer. Which means it’s been a day or two since that diaper came off of Emma’s booty. It’s an extra step in the process, and yes, sometimes it’s a semi-gross one.

With AppleCheeks’ envelope system, the pocket opening is big enough so that I don’t have to remove the insert manually. I just throw the diaper straight into the washer and the diaper is smart enough to just spit out the insert for me.

Genius cloth diapers, these AppleCheeks.

I could tell you so much more about these diapers. Like, how the rayon from bamboo insert is more absorbent than any microfleece/terry insert I currently have with only half the bulk. Or about how the limited edition print coming in January has adorable little birds. Or how I wish I had more AppleCheeks in my cloth diaper stash. And then there’s the front elastic that keeps the diaper front flush against Emma’s skin instead of puckering like some of our other diapers.

I love my AppleCheeks, y’all.

Recently, AppleCheeks hit 15,000 fans on Facebook and teamed up with 60 vendors to host a “little” giveaway to say thanks to their loyal and supportive fans. (And trust me, you’ll be hardpressed to find ANY cloth diaper devotees as, well, devoted, as AppleCheeks fans.)

The giveaway is open for 5 more days and will have 65 winners! The grand prize is a brand new StrollAir My Duo stroller!

You can enter by visiting the AppleCheeks Facebook Page. May the AppleCheeks odds be ever in your favor!

Love Emma’s fluffy AC butt! AC diapers are a big favorite for me too. Jason can easily stuff them, no touching pee insert & trim enough to fit both babies. I might cry when they grow out of our 3 size ones.
